The Delhi authorities has shortlisted 89 websites for the primary section of the Covid vaccination drive within the metropolis, Health Minister Satyendar Jain mentioned on Sunday.

“The Centre has finalized round 5,000 websites throughout the nation. As per the instructions of the central authorities, we’ve got finalized 89 hospitals as vaccination websites. The primary section of vaccination will begin from January 16,” he mentioned.

In accordance to Jain, the finalized vaccine websites will embrace 40 authorities hospitals and 49 personal ones.

The well being minister additionally mentioned that the primary batch of Covid vaccines will arrive in Delhi by Tuesday or Wednesday.

“Thereafter, frontline employees and people aged above 50 shall be given the doses,” Jain advised reporters.

Lecturers may also be included within the listing of frontline employees.

The minister mentioned the Delhi authorities has already requested the Centre to provide vaccines free of price.
