Police in Assam’s Hojai district on Monday busted an inter-state human trafficking racket and rescued seven women and four minors. Four folks, including three women, have been arrested.
An operation was launched below Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Dipti Mali close to Jamuna village from the place the women and minors had been rescued.
In response to the police, women from totally different districts in Higher Assam had been lured with guarantees of jobs and had been about to be trafficked exterior the state once they had been rescued.
“After receiving the knowledge, we instantly launched an operation within the space and rescued the women and minor girls from clutches of the gang. The rescued women and minor girls had been about to be trafficked by the gang to exterior of Assam,” Hojai district DSP Dipti Mali mentioned.
Whereas four traffickers, including the mastermind of the racket, had been arrested by the police, one remains to be absconding.
