It is raining K-dramas in the month of February! K-fans are particularly excited for the Yeo Jin Goo and Shin Ha Kyun starrer Beyond Evil. Beyond Evil is a psychological-mystery thriller that follows the story of a detective-sergeant duo, in the cold pursuit of a serial killer who has wreaked havoc in the quiet village of Manyang. The multifaceted nature of the people involved will play a major role in building up the thrill of the series. The lead actors, Yeo Jin Goo and Shin Ha Kyun shared their honest thoughts on playing their respective characters and why Beyond Evil is a solid, Korean style thriller drama, via an online press conference.

Yeo Jin Goo plays the highly capable but secretive detective Han Joo Won, who must join hands with Sergeant Lee Dong Shik, played by Shin Ha Kyun to catch the cold-blooded serial killer on the run. According to a report carried by TV Report, via Soompi, Yeo Jin Goo commented that the script made him curious and inquisitive about different aspects of the storyline. He also shared that he continually studied his character in depth and detail so as to not lose the character”s image. He shared, ” I am making a lot of effort to be called a good thriller actor through this drama.”  Shin Ha Kyun too echoed Jin Goo’s sentiments and conveyed that the script made him very curious about his role and he is still discovering his character better. He also confessed that he wants to portray the character’s inner torment and pain effectively to the audiences.

Shim Na Yeon, the producing director for Beyond Evil also shared that the drama is a classic ‘Korean-style thriller drama’ and she is positive that it will resonate with the sentiments of the Korean audiences. Beyond Evil premieres on February 19 at 11 pm KST.
