Witness, Chennai: CBCID targets Chengalpattu SP Kannan along with Special DGP Rajesh Dasa, who is facing charges of sexual harassment. The case was registered under three sections and proceeded for hearing on Monday. No longer this case Madras High Court Also adopted Sumoto and conducted an investigation. It is learned that Special DGP Rajesh Das is facing charges of sexually harassing a female IPS officer. The case was handed over to CBCI by DGP Tripathi. It is learned that the case of sexual harassment took place in Villupuram district.
The case was handed over to a team led by Villupuram CBCID Audition-DSP Gomathi. After the trial, CBCI officials at the Chennai headquarters are set to focus on a comprehensive inquiry. Cases have been registered against Rajesh Dasa under three sections. SP Kannan was also booked for cheating in the case. It was found that SP Kannan had prevented him from complaining to his superiors. It is noteworthy that a case was registered against him as well.
The Madras High Court has also focused on sexual harassment in the wake of the CBCID probe. Judge Ananda Venkatesan addressed the matter during the morning hearing. Police said the lack of security for women superiors was alarming. Sumoto said he was accepting the case in a way that would make the trial fair, given the allegations against police superiors in the affair.
