Party general secretaries and in-charges of state party branches will attend the meeting. The meeting, which will be held virtually, is expected to discuss the current political developments in the country as well as the Kovid issue. It is learned that these leaders will give their own hints and suggestions to take the failures of the government in various fields to the people. Rising inflation, a sluggish vaccination program and the government’s handling of the Kovid situation could also be discussed at the meeting. He said the leaders would address the deteriorating country’s economy and the major challenges facing the people. Also, some senior leaders may try to explain their views on the steps to be taken to strengthen the party.

Already, senior leaders like Kapil Sibal and Jairam Ramesh are expressing deep dissatisfaction with the party’s stance. It remains to be seen whether their views will be taken into account at this meeting. Congress leaders are expected to assess the outcome of Tuesday’s meeting of opposition parties, chaired by NCP leader Sharad Pawar, ahead of the monsoon session of Parliament in July. He says it is true that there has not been a comprehensive review of the party’s defeat in successive elections.
