Daisy Ridley of Star Wars fame has been roped in for upcoming psychological thriller The Marsh King’s Daughter. The movie will be based on the bestselling book of the same title by Karen Dionne. Limitless and Divergent director Neil Burger will direct the film.
ABOUT THE MARSH KING’S DAUGHTER
Daisy Ridley will headline The Marsh King’s Daughter as a woman shrouded in mystery and protecting a dark secret. Her father, the Marsh King, is infamous and has been responsible for keeping her and her mother captive in the wilderness for years. Daisy’s character is one who has spent her life trying to escape the trauma of her past, but is eventually forced to face her inner demons when her father roams free after escaping from prison.
Mark L Smith and Elle Smith, who worked on The Revenant, will develop the script of The Marsh King’s Daughter. Black Bear Pictures will bankroll the project, and Teddy Schwarzman of The Imitation Game will produce it alongside Keith Redmon and Mark L Smith.

Daisy Ridley is a British actress known for playing Rey in three Star Wars movies – The Force Awakens (2015), The Last Jedi (2017) and The Rise of Skywalker (2019). She also received massive appreciation for Kenneth Branagh’s Murder On The Orient Express. Daisy is currently awaiting the release of her sci-fi movie Chaos Walking. The movie has been directed by Doug Liman and also stars Tom Holland.
