Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated on Wednesday that the Union Cupboard’s nod to procure 83 indigenously-developed Gentle Fight Plane (LCA) Tejas for the Indian Air Power will strengthen the motion to create an ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ (self-reliant India).
In a significant choice aimed toward boosting the home aerospace business, India on Wednesday accepted a much-awaited deal price Rs 48,000 crore to procure 83 Tejas for the Indian Air Power.

The choice to procure the fleet was taken at a gathering of the Cupboard Committee on Safety (CCS) chaired by Modi. The prime minister tweeted, “At this time’s Cupboard choice will enhance the capabilities of our armed forces, increase the indigenous defence business and strengthen the motion to create an Aatmanirbhar Bharat.”
