Girls” Generation to make a full OT8 comeback this year? Doesn’t it sound like a dream come true? Well, that dream might just come true this year! Girls’ Generation, also called Sonyeo Sidae is an eight-member girl group formed by SM Entertainment. Originally a nine-piece group, Jessica left the group in September 2014. The members are Taeyeon, Sunny, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Yuri, Sooyoung, Yoona, and Seohyun. They released their eponymous debut album in the year 2007. One of the biggest girl groups in the world, SNSD earned the coveted title of ‘The Nation’s Girl Group’ in their home country South Korea.
The members of Girls’ Generation are planning an OT8 comeback this year! According to a report by Daily Sports via Soompi, Girls’ Generation members have reportedly discussed making a new album amongst themselves. Insider sources have confirmed in affirmative that although the members are now in different agencies and pursuing their solo careers, they are close friends and often plan to make more music together. Another source also shared that they most probably the OT8 comeback will happen in May or June. When SM Entertainment was contacted for a response to this report, a representative responded by saying, “Nothing has been decided.”
Girls’ Generation’s previous album as a full group was Holiday Night in August 2017. That also marked their 10 year anniversary together. In 2018, after Seohyun, Sooyoung, and Tiffany left SM Entertainment to pursue new careers; the remaining five members Taeyeon, Sunny, Hyoyeon, Yuri and Yoona released Lil’ Touch as Girls’ Generation-Oh!GG. Perhaps, this is what SuperM meant when they said, There’s gonna be better days!
