The Sports activities Ministry on Thursday sanctioned ₹ 2.5 lakh to Madhya Pradesh-based wrestler Sunny Jadhav for his coaching, procurement of apparatus and participation in nationwide and worldwide competitions after he was found to be doing “labour work” to make ends meet.
The monetary assistance to Jadhav was offered from the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Nationwide Welfare Fund for Sportspersons (PDUNWFS).
Jadhav gained silver medals on the U-23 Junior Nationwide Wrestling Championships 2018 held in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan, and on the Khelo India College Video games 2020 in Bhubaneswar within the 60kg Greco-roman occasion.
