Patanjali Coronil: According to the World Health Organization (WHO) …
Patanjali Coronil: According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Patanjali Ayurveda, based in Haridwar, on Friday announced that Patanjali Ayurveda has received certification from its Ministry of AYUSH. Yoga guru Ramdev claims to have obtained certification of pharmaceutical products from the World Health Organization, allowing the export of the Divya Coronil tablet, a drug from 158 countries.
However, Ramdev Baba on Friday released Patanjali’s ‘Evidence Best Medicine’ research paper on Kovid-19 in Delhi. The event was held in the presence of Union Health Minister Dr Harshavardhan and another Minister Nitin Gadkari. Yoga teacher Randev Baba, who revealed about the certificate issued in the format recommended by the World Health Organization to ensure that the drug product and its manufacturer are eligible for export to other countries, claimed that it was the first auxiliary drug for the corona.
Meanwhile, Randev Baba launched the Kovid Kit in June last year with three products, including a drug called Coronil. It was initially described as a ‘cure’ for the corona virus. However, the drug has since been embroiled in controversy. Controversy has erupted over whether Patanjali’s product was allowed to be sold as a cough, fever and immunosuppressive drug due to lack of proper clinical trial data to support his claim. In December 2020, the Haridwar-based company appealed to the Ministry of AYUSH to update the AYUSH license for Coronil tablets to a drug used for Kovid-19, which boosts immunity.
The proposal was issued to the company by the Ministry of AYUSH and published in its booklet by Patanjali Ayurveda. However, Patanjali said that it could be used as an adjunct medicine in Kovid. According to a letter from the Ministry of AYUSH, Coronil can be used only as an adjunct therapy and not as a coronavirus.
Coronel increases immunity: Randev Baba
Speaking on the occasion, Randev Baba on Friday said that Coronel helps in boosting the immunity in the body and works effectively to keep the Kovid under control. The World Health Organization (WHO) along with the Government of India has given the green signal for their drug. Coronel said it was ready to control Kovid-19 to supply more than 150 countries. He said the government had given the green signal to the Coronil drug after completing scientific research in line with international standards.
