    The Indian rupee superior by 14 paise to 73.81 towards the US greenback in opening commerce on Tuesday, as a constructive development in fairness markets lifted investor sentiment.

    On the interbank foreign exchange market, the native unit opened at 73.83 towards the US greenback, then gained some energy to cite at 73.81, reflecting an increase of 14 paise over its final shut.

    On Monday, the rupee had settled at 73.95 towards the American forex.

    The greenback index, which gauges the buck’s energy towards a basket of six currencies, rose 0.20 per cent to 91.12.

    International oil benchmark Brent crude futures fell 0.19 per cent to USD 67.43 per barrel.
