The State Board of Technical Education and Training, Telangana, Hyderabad will conduct “Polytechnic Common Entrance Test (POLYCET)” for the candidates seeking admission in to all Diploma Courses in Engineering / Non Engineering / Technology offered at Polytechnics / Institutions (including Aided and Unaided Private Polytechnics / Institutions running as 2nd shift in Private Engineering Colleges) in Telangana State for the academic year 2021-22.
Every candidate desirous of seeking admission into Engineering / Non – Engineering Diploma courses can apply through online for POLYCET-2021. No separate application form for admission is prescribed. The filled in application for POLYCET-2021 itself is an application for admission. For admission into the Diploma Courses like Hotel Management and Catering Technology, D. Pharmacy, the entry qualification is 10 + 2 The Candidates need not appear POLYCET – 2021 for admission into these courses. A separate notification will be issued for admission to these Diploma Courses.

Telangana State Board of Technical Education (SBTET) has released Polytechnic Entrance exam notice at https://polycetts.nic.in. POLYCET is a Polytechnic common entrance test conducted by State Board of Technical Education and Training, Hyderabad for admission into Diploma level programs conducted in Government, aided, Private unaided polytechnics and polytechnics run in existing Private unaided Engineering Colleges.
Application are called from Candidates passed SSC or its equivalent recognized by the Board of Secondary Education, TS, Hyderabad (or) appearing in 2021 to appear “Polytechnic Common Entrance Test – POLYCET-2021” for seeking admission into Diploma Courses in Engineering and Non- Engineering / Technology offered at Polytechnics / Institutions (including Govt./Aided and Unaided polytechnics / Institutions and 2nd shift Polytechnics running in Private Engineering Colleges) in Telangana State and Diploma Courses offered by Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU), PV Narasimha Rao Telangana, veterinary University (PVNRTVU) and affiliated Polytechnics in the Telangana State for the academic year 2021-22.
Eligibility to appear for POL YCET-2021:
Candidates who have passed SSC or its equivalent examination recognized by the Board of Secondary Education, TS, Hyderabad are eligible to apply. The candidates who have compartmentally passed or appearing for SSC-2021 are also eligible to apply. However, they must have passed in all the subjects before seeking admission. Detailed information regarding eligibility, age and syllabi etc., are given in the Instruction Booklet which is available in the website https://polycetts.nic.in.

State Board of Technical Education & Training, Hyderabad has made arrangements to file online applications at various AP-Online / through payment gateway. The detailed list of Coordinating cum Help line centers is available in the website https://polycetts.nic.in. In order to file application, the general candidates shall pay the examination fee of Rs. 400 / – (Rupees Four Hundred only) and for SC / ST candidates Rs.250 / – (Rupees Two Hundred and Fifty only).
The detailed procedure of filling up of the application form is available in the Instructions. Candidates are advised to read these instructions carefully before filling the Application. Duly filled in application form is to be given to the Operator for filing Online at nearest Coordinating cum Help line center.

Pattern and Syllabus for the examination
The examination (POLYCET) will be of 2 hours duration consisting of only one paper as per the syllabus in the subjects of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry of X Class (SSC) Examination held in March / April-2021 as prescribed by the Board of Secondary Education, Telangana State.
The Question paper consists of 120 questions with a choice of four responses for each question with only one correct response among them.
i) 60 Questions in Mathematics for 60 Marks.
ii) 30 Questions in Physics for 30 Marks.
iii) 30 Questions in Chemistry for 30 Marks.
The Admission Schedule: –
The admission schedule (Web Counseling) will be notified in all the leading Newspapers after declaration of POLYCET-2021 results. Candidates are advised to note that the admission into Polytechnics for the academic year 2021-22 shall be made on the basis of Web Counseling, wherein the candidates can opt for any courses in any Polytechnic in the order of priority and the allotment shall be made for his / her best preferred choice based on his / her merit and other admission rules in vogue. Details of Web counseling and the list of Helpline centers will be available on the website https: //tspolycet.nic.inand shall also be notified in all the leading Newspapers after declaration of POLYCET-2021 results.
Important Instructions for candidates: –
a) Hall Ticket issued to you is an important document. Please preserve it carefully till the admissions.
b) Candidate shall arrive at the examination hall at least 1 hour before the commencement of the examination. This will enable the candidate to familiarize himself / herself with the OMR response sheet.
c) Candidates will not be allowed to enter the examination hall after 11:00 AM, once the examination has commenced.
d) Candidates are directed to carry the following to the examination hall (a). Good ball point pen (black), (b). Writing pad (c). HB or 2B Pencils (d) .an Eraser (e). Sharpener.
e) Candidate should not bring log books, tables, calculators, tabs, cell phones, communicable / programmable electronic gadgets etc. into examination hall.
f) Candidates must remain seated in their allotted seats till the completion of examination. In no case they will be allowed to leave the examination hall till 1:30 PM. Before leaving, the candidates must return the OMR response sheet to the invigilator.
g) Candidates are advised to go through the instructions given for marking answers and other entries on the OMR response sheet thoroughly.
h) POL YCET- Entrance Test is conducted for candidates who desires to take up admissions up into
i) Diploma level programs offered in Government, Government-Aided, Private UnAided Polytechnics and 2nd Shift Polytechnics run in existing Private Un-Aided Engineering Colleges in Telangana State,
j) Diploma Courses offered by Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU) both University and affiliated polytechnics in the Telangana State.
k) Two separate Ranks will be allotted for the candidate who appeared for POL YCET
I) Diploma Courses in Polytechnics, Rank will be issued to the candidate based on marks obtained in Maths, Physics and Chemistry.
m) PJTSAU Rank will be issued to the candidate based on marks obtained in Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
n) Attempting the Biology questions is optional.
o) Candidates can opt to take admission in to either Diploma Courses offered in Polytechnics (or) Courses offered by PJTSAU.
p) No separate application form for admission is prescribed for the candidate desirous of seeking admission in to Engineering (or) Non-Engineering Diploma courses offered by Polytechnics, the filled-in application for POL YCET-2021 itself will be treated as application for admission in to courses offered in Polytechnics.
q) Separate admission notification will be issued for admission into various Diploma Courses offered by PV Narasimha Rao Telangana, veterinary University (PVNRTVU) PJTSAU on the University website www.pitsau.edu.in after the declaration of results of POL YCET-2021.
r) The OMR response sheet should be handled carefully and the candidates are advised not to fold or wrinkle or tear the OMR sheet under any circumstances. Candidates are advised not to scribe or make any marks on the response sheet except marking answers other relevant data at appropriate places. Candidates shall note that they will not be given under any circumstances a second OMR sheet.
s) Candidate shall mark the correct answer in the OMR response sheet by shading in dark the appropriate circle with HB or 2B pencil. They should not use ball pen for this purpose under any circumstances.
